Acceptance
By using ChurchAround you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the service. If you’re using ChurchAround on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for it.
About ChurchAround
ChurchAround is a free, public directory that helps people in the UK find welcoming Christian churches and keep a personal record of the services they visit. We aim for accuracy but the directory is provided “as is”, and church details may change.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating one you confirm the information you give us is accurate and that you’ll keep it up to date.
User accounts
We use passwordless sign-in: you receive a one-time magic link by email. Keep access to your inbox secure, since anyone with your email link could access your account. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Check-in feature
Check-ins let you privately record that you visited a church. Check-in counts shown on a church page are aggregated and anonymised — we never publicly reveal who checked in. Please only check in to services you genuinely attended.
User content
Any content you submit (such as a display name) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to store and display it as needed to run the service. Don’t submit anything you don’t have the right to share.
Prohibited conduct
When using ChurchAround, you agree not to:
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the directory without permission.
- Submit false check-ins or attempt to manipulate counts.
- Misuse the service to harass churches or other people.
- Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to our systems.
Intellectual property
The ChurchAround name, logo, design, and original content are owned by us and protected by law. Church names and public details belong to the respective churches. You may link to our pages freely.
Limitation of liability
ChurchAround is provided without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.
Termination
You can stop using ChurchAround and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached or to protect the service and its users.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we’ll update the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use ChurchAround after a change means you accept the revised terms.
